Michael Graham on Gov. Patrick's blame game.

Yep, it's all your fault that Massachusetts is run by a bunch of kleptocrat Democratic hacks--even the ones endorsed by Gov. Patrick. Gov. Patrick explained it all in his CYA press conference calling for "tough new ethics laws" to distract from his hard-core support of the ethically-challenged Dianne Wilkerson.

But don't blame Gov. Patrick for the surge in government corruption since he took office. No, my taxpaying friend, Gov Patrick says you're the problem:

"I want to offer the general public a respectful reminder to the general public of your responsibility...In a democracy, individual citizens have responsibilities, too. We have one of the lowest rates of participation here in Massachusetts. Not only are voting rates low, few incumbents are challenged at election time.

I'm not criticizing incumbency or...any one political party. We must be accountable and you as citizens must hold us accountable. I call on my fellow citizens to take responsibility for your government, by running for office and voting."

"Of course we're crooks," Gov. Patrick is essentially saying, "And it's your fault for letting us get away with it!"

It is particularly rich to hear Gov. Patrick complain that not enough incumbents are challenged when the ONLY incumbent to lose a primary this year--Dianne Wilkerson--had Gov. Patrick doing radio ads and robo-calls to protect her seat. It's wonderful being lectured about how we need to stand up to corrupt incumbents by a governor who STILL hasn't called on Sen. Wilkerson to resign, or Sen. "Free Willy" Marzilli.

Oh, and Governor, do you remember what happened when the people did rise up, and signed hundreds of thousands of petitions for the chance to vote on same-sex marriage? You called on the legislature to ignore the voters, violate the state constitution and refuse to vote on the petition as required by law. When we do vote, you ignore us. When we don't vote, you blame us. That's what Deval Patrick calls "leadership."

Deval Patrick, the Al Franken of governors.
