Margery Eagan vs. Gov. Patrick.
Ex-state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson allegedly stuffed cash in her cleavage, and now Chuck Turner faces cash-stuffing charges of his own. In Roxbury, they’re screaming “political ethnic cleansing” and the rainbow coalition crowd is desperately seeking The Great White Defendant with hands up his shirt, or down his pants, or whatever.“These charges,” said City Council President Maureen Feeney, “shake an already fragile public trust.”
Fragile, Madame President?
Surely you jest.
Here’s what else we learned on Friday - just Friday:
That Massport approved a $30 million Logan contract with Parsons Brinckerhoff, the robber barons who, along with Bechtel, mismanaged the $15 billion Big Dig leak-a-thon/collapse-a-thon/fraud-a-thon. Paying for the Big Dig is why tolls are going up. And Parsons Brinckerhoff wasn’t even the low bidder.
With due respect, Governor, when once asked on my radio show why these companies weren’t barred from doing business here ever again, you predicted we’d all remember this disaster, and never hire them.
Whoops.
UPDATE: More from Joan Vennochi and Tom Keane.
