Bound For The Floor

You know, conservatives really have to knock it off with their claims that liberals hate religion. I can think of a certain "progressive" Massachusetts Governor on his knees right now, begging God for an Obama win so he can get the hell out of town.

When state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson was allegedly stuffing wads of cash into her bra, Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Gov. Deval Patrick were putting themselves on the line for her, a political embarrassment that could haunt them.

Menino was apparently unaware that his own cops were investigating Wilkerson as he mobilized his political machine for the Democratic primary election.

There were questions, however, about how aggressively Menino supported Wilkerson before declaring his neutrality after her primary loss to Sonia Chang-Diaz, prompting her controversial sticker campaign.

Sources told the Herald that Boston police received the initial tip that Wilkerson was taking bribes 18 months ago. Police commissioner Edward Davis is among few who are privy to anti-corruption probes. Sources said Davis, who declined to comment, probably did not brief Menino on the investigation until hours before the arrest...

As for Patrick, the GOP wasted no time yesterday, quickly creating an online ad featuring the robo-call Patrick recorded in support of Wilkerson. “This video highlights Gov. Deval Patrick’s lack of judgment in supporting an ethically questionable Democrat,” said state GOP director Rob Willington.

Jeez!
