More on the latest scandal rocking the Patrick administration.
Close associates of a top Patrick administration aide accused of sexual assault are reacting with shock over allegations that Carl Stanley McGee performed sex acts on a 15-year-old boy in a Florida hotel steam room. The accusations against McGee are outlined in a police report that charges him with violating Florida’s sexual battery laws in a Dec. 28 encounter at the Gasparilla Inn & Club in Boca Grande.
The report says McGee approached the youth and engaged him in small talk in a restroom on Dec. 27. The next day, McGee and the boy were in the steam room when McGee allegedly removed his towel and began engaging in sex acts, the report states.
McGee, 38, due to be arraigned Feb. 11, is on unpaid leave from his $115,000-a-year post as assistant secretary of policy and planning in Patrick’s economic development office. Friends reacted with disbelief yesterday to the allegations. McGee, a Harvard Law graudate, is considered a rising star in the Patrick administration.
