This Governor is a joke - so much for the "together" part of we can - that moniker only holds true unless he can do something without you - This guy is a joke - period.
While I may not agree with him on this proposal, I think the motto should be: "Together he can have every proposal he makes shot down by the Legislature, who will then blame him when problems go unresolved."
"One estimate says it would cost Massachusetts about $15 million to provide the tuition cut."
Hey, what is $15 million anyway? Chump change. I estimate that 1 hour of profit from my resort casinos will cover that.

hey, will he cover the difference like he has done - supposedly - with his cadillac?
Together we can ... screw the taxpayers
Here's a thought. DP is tight with the leadership of local talk radio, appearing weekly/monthly on at least one station.
As I recall, the LAST time this sort of legislation was proposed, it was shot down due to the efforts of local talk radio.
Is it possible this is nothing more than a trial balloon, intended to make the less-than-well performing radio stations look good by getting it shot down again?
No that won't be possible. Casino Deval plans to bypass that pesky democracy and push this through with executive order, nobody can stop that.
"The citizens and legislator don't want this? What do those idiots know anyway? I'm the king, the only thing that matters is what I want."

Where is Romney when we need him? I knew this guy was going to be bad news. Just watch, right now it's only several hundred illegal immigrants that will benefit from this. But years from now, it will be thousands, and this will enbolden them to demand other services that taxpayers cannot, and should not pay for.
What????? What??????????? WHO voted for him????
Hey TJ, they won't stand up to him, they support him, almost without reserve. Which is exactly opposite to what they are supposed to do.
I do have to give Margery Eegan Credit. She attacked this today when her "partner" Braude *basically* seemed to support DP in this thing.
:P
So what is he going to do for me, an American and a citizen of the state of Massachusetts, while I am currently attending a state school? Anything? Are you going to do anything to alleviate the astronomical debt that will accrue just from undergrad studies, let alone grad studies that are inevitable?
Why aren't our schools working harder to make sure that more of our legal residents qualify for these college admissions?
You want to know why Deval is doing this. He played all of these suckers out. They think its about hope and opportunity when in reality its the big business agenda. Think about it, if we provide the children of illegals with education, they enter the labor pool for high paid jobs.
Like their parents did for blue collar work, their children will do to white collar work. These kids will cause once high wage salaries to go down due to oversaturation of labor in the workforce. They will probably be given some sort of step up to take these jobs after they graduate and then our kids will be forced to compete for chump change. Our children are made worse because number one, state schools will have to spend more money to survive the increased enrollment, many who will probably go free anyways. When wages go down and your kid is stuck with $40,000 in debt, how will they pay this off when jobs will most likely be scare and low wage.
Think about how much the quality of education will go down. Most of these students use english as a second language, so we will have to lower the bar for them. Its cost the businesses and politicians nothing. They both benefit because they can lower operating costs buy having cheap labor, and the politicians will benefit because I am sure they are being bought off.
Please don't be fooled by this progressive nonsense, its all a facade. Many of the wealthy trustfund babies pushing this are naive, they do what they think is trendy, not looking at the real cost and rational behind this policy and others. The powers that be are trying to lower our standard of living and make us modern day serfs while they are the kings. They are nothing more then tyrants, I am shocked your not on the streets.
Mass residents who voted for him -- and those who don't vote at all -- get what they deserve. I was born and raised in the Commonwealth but thankfully do not live there today. If I hadn't moved, I certainly would now. Not to paint everyone with the same broad brush, but there are so many "legacy" Democrats around who don't take the time to cultivate their own political views. The upshot of it all? Deval Patrick, Governor. Why? Well, because he had the "D" next to his name! We all know how the Democrats always champion the cause of the middle-class, working people. Not like those evil, nasty Republicans.
All I can do is watch from afar with horror and sympathy for those who opposed his ill-fated candidacy. The liberals and legacy Dems have doomed you to the Deval Era.
