Deval's incompetence isn't so bad. At this rate he won't be able to find a permanent staff in time to get anything done by the 2010 election.
Maybe he should spend a minute and a half to review the following video:

Shortly after his inauguration, he said he "would open the government to the public and overhaul the culture of Beacon Hill."
So far, I don't like the overhauled culture, having been redirected to the state police to discuss cars, and hearing the "Don't ask me, ask them.." excuse. So, what's been opened up? Nothing, but a glimpse of his intentions.
With the illegal worker raid, he can't redirect us to the agencies involved; "Don't ask me, go ask ICE" would conflict his statements, as would "Don't ask me, go ask DSS", or "Don't ask me, go ask homeland security."
In closing (January 5th, 2007):
"For a very long time now, we have been told that government is bad, that it exists only to serve the powerful and well-connected, that its job is not important enough to be done by anyone competent, let alone committed, and that all of us are on our own. Today, we join together in common cause to lay that fallacy to rest, and to extend a great movement based on shared responsibility from the corner office to the corner of your block and back again."
Excuse me, while I go have a movement.
from today's Sunday Globe:
>>Headlines about lavish spending for office furnishings and a state car -- and about an ill-advised phone call on behalf of his former business associates -- have hurt his image.
Note no mention of the $72k Amy Gorin
appointment as Mrs Patrick's "scheduler"
(since resigned under pressure)...
