Expose The Hypocrisy

"Don't Give Up On Me," Says Deval

The hole keeps getting deeper for Governor Deval Patrick, as he pleas to the people of the Commonwealth to not "give up" on him.

Gov. Deval Patrick is facing a potentially lengthy ethics probe after a formal complaint by GOP critics who say his controversial phone call on behalf of Ameriquest Mortgage constitutes undue “influence of the highest order.”

The complaint, which triggers an automatic review by the State Ethics Commission, creates more problems for the shell-shocked governor, who is seeking to end weeks of negative headlines. Patrick urged his supporters to stick with him yesterday, even as some of them questioned his political judgment.

“I will make mistakes, but don’t give up on me, because I don’t intend to give up on Massachusetts,” he said.

“Of course I’m concerned,” Patrick said when asked about his loss of momentum. “But it’s a four-year term. We have a very ambitious agenda. We have put a lot of powerful proposals on the table . . . and we just have to keep working every day.”

Yes Governor, you do have the better part of four years left of your term. But considering you are averaging at least one controversy every 3-4 weeks, I suggest if you like your job (and your Cadillac), shape up or ship out.

At least he didn't forget to blame the GOP for making a mountain out of a molehill.

A spokesman for Patrick dismissed the complaint as a partisan attack. “We’re not surprised by the Republican Party’s political grandstanding,” spokesman Kyle Sullivan said. “We are confident that there was no ethical violation.”

We are growing more confident with each passing day that four years of Deval Patrick as governor will help usher a Republican back into the corner office in January 2011.

Keep it up, Deval.

"WHY IS everyone missing the obvious message Patrick is sending? Like his mentor William Jefferson Clinton, once elected, he is above the law."

"I AM still driving around with the blue and white Deval Patrick sticker on the back of my car, but I am getting worried...what is he doing -- the Cadillac, the chief of staff for his wife (obviously an underpaid partner at Ropes and Gray), the expensive office redecoration plans, the call to Robert Rubin at Citigroup on behalf of Ameriquest, one of Patrick's less-than-sterling corporate affiliations?"

Hi all; w/respect to Deval Gate:

The MOST important question (and attendant answer): WHO dimed out Deval? Who's the deep throat. Presumably it's someone on the inside, which suggests that not everyone in Patrickville is down with the program.

My guess is that the downward spiral will continue: let's not forget the "mini-misteps": encouraging legislators to violate their constitutional responsibility; snubbing Ronald Reagan, snubbing Veterans.

I am pleased that he is floundering, because it will make it that much easier to kneecap him prior to his next BIG misstep: JUDGES. It is imperative to keep an eye on him regarding his judicial appointments. That's where he can do the MOST damage for the longest period of time.

Over and out!!!!!
