There has been a deafening silence on certain left-wing Massachusetts blogs about the scandal revolving around Deval Patrick's re-launched campaign site, and the privacy issues that resulted.
True to form, they have finally acknowledged the controversy by praising Deval Patrick's civic engagement initiative, and writing off the privacy concerns as "much ado about nothing." They are even using the controversy to empower themselves by expressing their support on DevalPatrick.com and accusing those who criticize the new website as being "threatened" by Deval's civic engagement initiative.
For those involved in Deval Patrick’s innovative, grassroots-driven, decentralized, and empowering campaign, any "controversy" about the governor's relaunched website is much ado about nothing. It appears that those who attack this website are threatened by ordinary citizens being active and engaged.Their apparent resolve, however, seems to be a smokescreen for their fear that the new privacy-invading website will be shutdown:
Let's send a message of our own. This site needs to stay up! If you agree, please show your support by voting for this issue.I know these people probably worked hard to help get Deval elected, but can't they ever -- even just once -- admit that Deval Patrick has made some serious mistakes?
