$72G Quid Pro Quo For Deval's Former Campaign Co-Chair

Now is this really necessary?

Gov. Deval Patrick has hired a $72,000-a-year chief of staff - for his wife.

From a State House suite, Amy Gorin of Wellesley, who co-chaired the governor’s fund-raising committee along with her husband, Norm, will coordinate Diane Patrick’s schedule.

A spokesman for Patrick said the staff person is necessary because his wife has a full-time job as a practicing attorney. She is a partner at the downtown Boston law firm Ropes & Gray.

Amy Gorin was in the infamous bogus web testimonial that Hub Politics discovered back in April of last year, which prompted a pathetic response from the Patrick Campaign, and later led to the campaign revising their testimonial policy.

Must be nice to be a $72,000/year secretary for Mrs. Deval Patrick after all your work as the campaign co-chair.

This is just pathetic. 72K? I am suspect that the job qualifications warrant this level of pay. Can we get an accounting of what Amy Gorin will be doing? I know some people that would like to subcontract for a piece of that action...
