...and it's called Deval Patrick.
I heard clips of Deval Patrick's Martin Luther King Day speech today, and found myself horrified. This man, our new governor, wastes his opportunity memorialize the contributions of Martin Luther King Jr., and instead proselytized his radical left-wing ideology under the guise of honoring King's legacy.
"Race relations is the only major social ill we're facing in this country that we seem to be seriously considering curing by denial, as if declaring ourselves colorblind in law will make us colorblind in fact," Patrick said, repeating a mantra of "we have much work to do."Deval Patrick may preach about a colorblind society, but his "civil rights" crusade during his stint om the Clinton Justice Department was likened by a black Senatorto "Gestapo tactics," and Deval himself was was described as radical left-wing civil rights ideologue by another Senator. Deval Patrick's perceptions are so distorted, he talks about the struggle of minorities today as if we still live in the Jim Crow era.The governor said the civil rights movement that King led has grown to include ethnic and racial groups other than blacks. He pointedly said it includes gays and lesbians, a notion that has been rejected by some black activists."
Deval Patrick may have tried to emulate King in his speech by repeating "we have much work to do" the same way King repeated "I have a dream," but Deval Patrick's racebaiting does not honor King's legacy.
When Deval Patrick says "we have much work to do," he's not talking about continuing Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy, he's talking about promoting racial quotas and gay marriage.
Martin Luther King Jr. said in his famous "I Have A Dream" speech,
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.I wish Deval Patrick understood this concept.
